Who I am
Hello ! I’m Ambika—an artist and a full time professional at DHL, based in Germany for over 15 years. While I truly love my job, my first love has always been art and I carve out time to honor it—weekends, quiet evenings, and the spaces in between.
My practice is playful and exploratory. I experiment with various mediums and styles—layering color, texture, and form—while letting curiosity lead the way. I’m inspired by many voices: contemporary creators pushing boundaries and iconic artists who shaped how we see. Their influence shows up in my work as styles, subjects and new experiments.
Why I paint
Painting is meditative for me. It’s a pause from the noise, a place where attention deepens and time slows. I’m endlessly fascinated by the moment when a piece becomes more than marks on a surface—when it turns into something someone might want to live with, something that brings joy or a smile every time they pass it on their wall.
Each canvas is a conversation with myself. The more I paint, the more I evolve—both in my style and in how I move through the world. Art reminds me to be present, to stay curious, and to keep learning. If a work here resonates with you, I hope it brings that same sense of calm and delight into your space.
